Masing Memorial Prize awarded to Jörg F. Löffler

At the annual meeting in May of the German Society for Materials, Jörg F. Löffler was presented with the Masing Memorial Prize 2004. This prize is awarded for independent research work in the field of materials, and celebrates the best achievement in a metals-related area published in the two years previous to the prize date by scientists aged 38 or younger.
Prof. Löffler receives this award for "his innovative and pathbreaking contributions to the development and characterization of metallic systems in reduced dimensions, in particular nanostructured materials and bulk metallic glasses" (Adv. Eng. Mater. Vol. 7(4), 2005, p.5).
