Magnetic Alloys and Nanostructures
In the field of magnetic alloys and nanostructures, we work on the basic understanding and design of hard- and soft-magnetic materials, such as SmCo-based permanent magnets and Fe-based bulk metallic glasses (see BMG section). We also investigate novel nanomagnetic phenomena and topologies, for example nanoscopic spin textures and skyrmions. Finally, we study magnetic Earth and extraterrestrial materials, in particular the structural and magnetic properties of natural and artificial pyrrhotite.
